"Phao Doi Chi Huy" Artillery Battery Headquarters Cover
KBC 4522

This folded airletter was addressed to Sergeant (T/S) Vu Ngoc Loan assigned to the Artillery Battery Headquarters (Phao Do Chi Huy), Section 3 (Ban 3). A free-frank stamp, type "M2" (brown lettering) was affixed to the bottom front of the letter and machine canceled 13 May 1969.

This is an example of the first airletter design produced by the Republic of Viet-Nam. The printing date is unknown, but likely 1967 or 1968. The second airletter design was printed in 1968 with a green "leaping soldier" in the upper left corner, and a pre-printed "M2" type stamp in the upper right.

The inscription on the reverse of the airletter translates as, "Hate the Viet Cong because they cause war and destroy the South."
