3d Infantry Division Insignia

This cover bears the insignia of the ARVN 3d Infantry Division (Su Doan 3 Bo Binh). The contents, a small notebook, also show the insignia. The KBC unit cachet reads 6534, indicating a Regional Forces unit. A 30d stamp was used to pay the registry fee; the label at affixed by QBC 1 - one of 50 processing centers. "Bao Dam" is similar in meaning to "registered mail", but it received even better treatment. Bao Dam covers are only found from the military or government departments, leading one to believe they are what could be termed "official registered mail."
