Medical Corps Certificate of Professional Skills, Level 1 According to Mr. Toan Nguyen who kindly helped translate this document, this certificate indicates a type of professional degree granted by the Army of the Republic of Viet-Nam (ARVN). The holder of the certificate would be paid about 250 piastres per month based on this training. "Chung Chi Nang Luc Chuyen Mon" (CCNLCM) is a certificate of professional skills. The number indicates the level of training and responsibility. In this case the level is "1". "Quan Y" is Medical Corps. All Army Corps had similar training programs and certificates (Infantry, Engineers, Marines, Airborne, Rangers, etc.). For example, the Signal Corps had "CCNLCM so 1" which was granted to Sergeants and Privates, granting them responsibility for 1st/2nd echelon of maintenance. "CCNLCM so 2" could be granted to soldiers ranking Sergeant to Sergeant 1st Class, granting resposibility for 2nd/3rd echelon of maintenance. "CCNLCM B1 and B2" was for ranks Sergeant to Master Sergeant and conferred responsibilty for 4th/5th echelons of maintenance.
