Welcome, and thanks for visiting.

Check out my blog at imnahastamps.blogspot.com. This web site focuses on South Vietnamese military mail, but my blog includes all aspects of the conflict beginning with the First Indo-china War 1945-1955. Be sure to sign up for e-mail alerts when I post new material.

South Vietnamese military mail is a fascinating and challenging collecting area that appeals to both postal historians and militaria collectors. During and after the war, most South Vietnamese military covers and documents were destroyed, either intentionally to conceal an individual's association with the military, or as a by-product of daily life in a country known for its recycling and re-use of consumables like paper. The pieces that survive were often damaged by humidity or insects. Consequently, Vietnamese military mail is generally uncommon at best, but a fascinating collection can be formed if one has patience and knows what to look for.

This web site illustrates selected Vietnamese military covers and complimentary documents such as identification cards, and includes an English-Vietnamese glossary of military terms to assist native English speakers decipher the cryptic abbreviations and markings found on this material.

I have documented hundreds of South Vietnamese Military KBC numbers and their corresponding locations, unit types and active dates. Click here to view the my KBC list.

The Society of Indo-china Philatelists (SICP) is an invaluable resource. If you collect the stamps or postal history of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos or Indo-china, I encourage you to join. Dues are only $5 per year if you elect to receive the journal electronically.

Happy collecting!

Andrew Crenshaw
